- What Information must be submitted to Securecerts.ie
as part of Verification Process for a True BusinessID?
As part of the process of authentication we require Proof of Organization
(any of the following will apply)
- Certificate of Incorporation
- Sole Proprietorship documentation
- In order to ensure a smooth verification process,
ensure that the following items are consistent with the order to have
your server certificate order processed.
- The Registrant listed in the WHOIS records for the domain name
in question
- The Organization appearing in your "Proof of Organization"
documents
- The Organization entered into the CSR (Certificate Signing Request)
- Say the domain name I wish to purchase the cert
for is not exactly the same as the name of the limited company(which
it rarely is for historical reasons). How do I proceed in this case?
The domain doesn't have to be the same as the company name. As long
as the whois registrant information for that domain name is the same
as the one that has applied for this webcert, then it's fine. For example,
if company ABC Ltd. applied for a web cert for the domain irishtravel.com,
then as long as the whois info for irishtravel.com says that the registrant
is ABC Ltd., then everything should be fine.
- Say the domain name I wish to purchase the cert
for is owned by a limited company for which I can supply documentation
for but the website designers for that company have inserted their details
in the Whois for the admin + owner details instead of the real owner,
how do I proceed in that case?
The whois information MUST be changed before any further steps in the
application process can be taken.
